RICS Residential Market Survey confirms strengthening of house prices across the UK

As an established firm of Chartered Surveyors, we have taken keen interest in the latest RICS UK Residential Market Survey for February 2022. It has confirmed what we have been experiencing in terms of residential sales, with home sales picking up despite the recent interest rate rises.

The RICS state: “Sales of homes in the UK strengthened in February, thanks in part to renewed interest from new buyers despite the Bank of England’s decision to increase interest rates – this according to experts responding to the latest RICS Residential Market Survey.”

In addition, The Chancellor has incentivised home efficiency expenditure in his Spring Statement and more information can be found here.
A sales dip in January caused by a shortage of supply, has been replaced by a stabilising February and a strong market going forward into 2022. Read the full report here.

The pace of house price growth is accelerating well and we are continuing to see an increase in perspective purchasers registering and interest through our sales team. A knock on effect in the lettings market is also being noticed, with demand and prices continuing an upward trend. For our current lettings, please click here.
