The Worcestershire Property Market This Autumn
“After a challenging summer, the Worcestershire property market is showing early signs of improvement as we move into autumn.” – Tim Gaston, Partner at G Herbert Banks, shares his view on where things stand and what’s driven recent activity across the county.
A price sensitive market
It’s been a price sensitive year, and that’s set to continue through the winter months. Global events, particularly the turmoil in the Middle East, have had a significant effect on the market. Closer to home, it’s still too early to say what impact the new Prime Minister and cabinet will have, though the lack of any movement on stamp duty so far has been a disappointment for many buyers and sellers.
Recent completions across the county
Despite the wider caution, there’s been plenty to be pleased about. Late summer and early autumn brought some excellent completions, including a beautiful village house in Kemerton, North Cotswolds. Close to our Great Witley office, we also completed the sale of a superb detached dormer bungalow, and a little further afield, a charming cottage in Stoke Bliss, near the historic town of Tenbury Wells.
A notable new listing at Wolverley
A particularly handsome Georgian house has just come to the market at Wolverley, North Worcestershire, priced at £895,000. It’s already attracting strong interest, with an offer received shortly after launch.
What this means for buyers and sellers
The message from the last few months is clear: well presented, realistically priced homes are still finding buyers, even against a cautious backdrop.
